The Online Fitness Instructors to Watch in 2021
Amidst the global pandemic, online video workouts are becoming more popular than ever.
After all, social distancing regulations and recurrent lockdowns have meant that a lot of us have been unable to go to the gym or our local exercise class as we usually would. (Sob!)
That said, there are some online fitness instructors that are arguably getting us through this difficult time. And their workouts show no signs of going out of style.
Let’s explore them one-by-one, shall we?
1. Joe Wicks
Fondly nicknamed “The Fitness King of Lockdown,” there’s perhaps not a soul in the UK who hasn’t heard of Surrey-based Joe Wicks.
His YouTube channel, The Body Coach TV, has 2.7 million followers (and counting!) and he posts new exercise videos every week.
From medium-length HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) challenges to short ab workouts, his simple routines are easy to follow and implement into your everyday life.
Joe is even doing “PE Lessons” for kids at the moment to keep them physically active during the third UK lockdown. What a champ!
2. Heather Robertson
Canadian native Heather Robertson is coming in hot to the fitness influencer scene after many people around the world have been enjoying her YouTube workouts. (At the time of writing this, she has 1.2 million subscribers.)
Featuring a range of moves with often no repeats, her easy-to-follow, medium-length HIITs often get thousands of views and hundreds of comments.
Vancouver-based Heather also features fun, upbeat songs in her workout videos so you can have a bit of a boogie as you burn calories. Sold.
3. Kayla Itsines
Born in Adelaide, Kayla Itsines is an Australian-based personal trainer who is presently considered one of the world’s top fitness influencers.
Why? Well, she has 12.7 million followers on Instagram. Her YouTube workouts and challenges are also well-received with thousands of views.
Like Joe and Heather, Kayla often posts exercises that you don’t need equipment to perform, making it super easy to click “play” on a video and get your blood pumping!
4. Simeon Panda
Born and based in London, England, Simeon Panda is known for his training programs that promote extreme fat burning and muscle gain.
Even though he has a huge following across Instagram (7.4 million to be precise), his YouTube subscribers come in at a modest 2.3 million. However, this number only continues to rise.
His audience is mostly male because of the muscle-focused content he tends to create. But ladies, rest assured, you can also find gender-neutral workouts on his channels.
5. Pamela Reif
Lastly, Pamela Reif is a German fitness model and social media sensation. Although she’s currently 24 years old, she’s built an army of followers on Instagram (7.1 million) and YouTube (5.8 million).
Pamela is recognised for her six-pack abs and her short but intense HIIT workouts.
If you’re up for exercising at a fast pace and getting quick results, Pamela is your girl.
Helping Online Fitness Instructors to Help Us
The best thing about these online fitness instructors is that we can access their content for free in a time where we really need it.
If you want to help them help us further, keep watching, engaging and subscribing.
At the end of the day, their large audiences enable them to secure paid opportunities, which ultimately means they’re able to keep producing content for free! Yay for us.
